Snickerdoodles

1 c shortning
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
2 2/4 c flour
2 t cream of tartar
1 t soda
1/2 t salt

Beat shortning and sugars then add dry ingredients. Form into balls and roll in mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350 8-10 min

Freezer Cookies

Makes 24 dozen!

4 c brown sugar
4 c white sugar
4 c shortning
8 lr eggs
8 c flour
8 c oats
4 tsp salt
4 tsp soda
4 tsp baking powerd
4 tsp vanilla

Cream sugars and eggs and then add dr ingredients. Divide dough into 4 parts and add to each different things: 2 c coconut and 1 c pecans, or 1 c walnuts, 1 c chocolate chips, or butterschotch chips or raisins and nuts. Or any other combination you may like. Shape into long rolls and wrap tightly in foil. Store in freezer and when you want cookies, you cut into slices and your ready to eat! Or just eat the dough frozen.....Bake at 350 8 min or so....don't over bake

Carrot Cookies

1 c shortning or butter
3/4 c sugar
1 egg beaten
1 c grated carrots
1 tsp grated orange rind
2 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Cream butter, and sugar, add eff then carrots, orange rind. Add sifted dry ingredients. Drop by teasponful on cookie sheet and back 400 for 10 minutes.

Frosting
Grated orange peal, 1 tsp melted butter, 1/8 c OJ. Mix well and add powered suge enough to spread well.

Sweet Chex snacks

6 cups rice chex (half box)
6 cups honey grahams
1 c coconut
1 c sliced almonds
1 c cashews or peanuts
Mix together

3/4 c margarine
3/4 c sugar
1 c Karo

Mix and boil for 3-4 min, pour over cereal and mix well. Pour out onto waxed paper. when cool break into pieces

No Bake Cookies

1 cube margarine
2 c sugar
1/2 c milk
2 T. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbl. cocoa
3 c oatmeal

Boil sugar, butter, milk, peanut butter, for 1 min. Add vanilla, cocoa, and oats. Drop by teasponful onto wax paper
